Hello gentle readers. A few weeks ago we bought our very own meat grinder for making mince. The first time we used it we made some really nice burgers and I suggested to Lena that we make some Russian Pelmenie.
For those of you that dont know, Pelmenie are Russian meat filled dumplings that you can boil or fry. See the picture below.

They are very similar to Chinese dumplings but I personally think they are tastier because I think that the ingredients are usually better quality.
Anyway we had about 400g of chicken breast and about 200g of pork which we had bought from our local Win-Fortune supermarket so we took out the grinder and started to mince.
We found that the chicken and pork were very fatty and our poor grinder could not cope. We therefore decided to turn our chicken and pork mince into cutlets.
Lena mixed the pork and chicken together and she chopped through some red onion, salt and garlic. She shaped them into little cutlets and gently fried them in olive oil.
We served them with pasta and some salad. They were awesome.
Maybe we will get pelmenies another day.
