After more than 3 years I have finally succumbed. I love Game of Thrones; the books and the tv show; but I have never blogged about it before.
For my first post on GoT I want to share with you my own personal top 10 of shocking moments.
They are in chronological order.
1. Jaime pushes Bran from the window.
Even more shocking because it happens in the first episode. Bran had seen the twins Jaime and Cersei having incestual sex.
2. Eddard Stark is executed.
Sean Bean WAS the star of the first season. His death proved that ANYONE could die.
3. The Red Woman gives birth.
Melissandre and Davos have found a nice damp cave and she suddenly strips naked and gives birth to a smoke demon which then kills Renly Baratheon.
4. The Red Wedding
Truly shocking in both the books and the tv show. In a little over 5 minutes, GoT was completely vhanged.
5. The Purple Wedding
Joffrey was a slimy, evil little toad but even his death was a shock.
6. The Mountain and the Viper
Gregor Clegane and Oberyn Martell battle hand to hand. Just as we believe the evil Mountain has been defeated. He crushes Oberyns head with his bare hands.
7. The Walk of Shame
Cersei after her trial is forced by the High Sparrow to walk naked through the streets of Kings Landing.
8. Sansa kills Ramsay
After he raped and beat her you can not really blame her for doing it but feeding him to his own dogs seems a bit North Korean to say the least.
9. Cersei kills...well almost everybody
Using wildfire to destroy the Sept of Baelor and kill almost all her enemies in one go. It also causes her son King Tommen to commit suicide and Cersei becomes queen.
10. Undead Viserion destroys the Wall
The newly zombified dragon breaths blue fire and the wall comes tumbling down
