Hello Robert Thomson

Hey there gentle Readers. I know I promised to try and write some more posts, but since the beginning of January there has been one major distraction that has entered my life.

I am not talking about Masterchef USA with Gordon Ramsay, although that has been a distraction. I am not also talking about school exams or school reports, these have also been an important part of my January.

I am talking about our Son, who began living with us on the 6th of January, just a few weeks after we met him for the first time. On the 5th the adoption court gave us permission to become his official guardians and in 6 months time, or less maybe, we will adopt him officially.

I do not want to use his real name or publish photos, the way some new parents do with their kids, but I want to use the blog to give you updates and news about him over the coming months and years.

He is 5, turning 6 in April, has blond hair, grey eyes and loves playing with Lego.
He is calling me Papochka and Lena is Mama. He is very energetic and he loves riding me like a pony and my monkey impersonation. He loves spaghetti and cheese and surprises.

He really is a perfectly normal 5 year old, intelligent, curious and funny with a giggle that makes my heart melt when I hear it. I especially like the sound of his laughter when i blow raspberries on his tummy or when I am tickling his feet.

Although its not his real name, our son has decided that he wants to be called Robert, this makes us both very happy because his real name is quite unusual and Robert was my dads name.

Welcome to the family Robert Thomson.
