Neil's Ganu pirags

Dear Gentle Readers, it has been a while since I put up a recipe but here is may take on Shepherd's pie or Ganu pirags that I made this evening.

Ingredients (serves 4)

300g lamb mince
1 onion
1 pepper
2 carrots
6 large potatoes
2 garlic cloves
Fresh Parsley
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 stockcube
50g gouda or cheddar cheese
100g sour cream

Method
Wash and peel the potatoes and after cutting put on to boil in salted water.
Brown the mince in a pan with the oil and garlic.
Chop the carrot, onion and pepper finely and when the mince is browned add the vegetables and stir.
Make half a cup of stock and add to the pan.
When the veg has started to wilt add a handful of freshly chopped parsley and stir through.
Cook for a few more minutes so that the parsley blends with the sauce.

Pour the meat mix into an oven proof dish and spread it out so hat it is even.
Add the sour cream and a small amount of parsley to the potatoes and mash until smooth.
Spoon the potatoes on top of the mince and smooth it out so that all the meat is covered.

 Before the oven

Place in an oven at gas mark 7 for 30 minutes. After that grate some cheese over the top and put back in the oven for another 10 minutes.

After the oven and ready to eat.
