1603: James VI of Scotland is crowned James I of England.

1797: Horatio Lord Nelson loses 300 men and his arm during a failed attempt to capture Tenerife from the Spanish.



1909: Louis Bleriot becomes the firstman to fly accross the English channel.

1965: Bob Dylan 'Goes Electric' at Newport folk festival and some of the crowd boo him.



1967: Friends actor Matt le Blanc is born.



2019: Extrene heat records in Belgium, Germany and the UK are broken.
