The only blonde boy in China.

Hello there Gentle Reader, wherever you may be. China doesn't do blondes. We have been here for 11 weeks or so and the only blonde I have seen was wearing a wig so obvious that Elton John might have lost it.

As you can imagine, Robert is causing quite a stir. From the moment we arrived in China people, especially girls and even mature women like to stare, ask for photos and on a couple of occasions touch his hair.

Robert does not really like the attention but he smiles and says "Ni hao" and puts up with it.

The school asked if they could use his image in their marketing materials and we agreed because the school has been very supportive since day 1.

Below is a picture of just 2 of the marketing booklets and pamphets. Being blonde in China may not be so bad after all.
