1923: The Munich Beer Hall Putch. Adolf Hitler unsuccessfully tries to overthrow the German government.




1965: In the UK, the death penalty is finally abolished.


1966: TV Chef and 3 time Michellin star winner Gordon Ramsay is born.


2016: Donald Trump wins the US presidential election.
