When we first started planning to come to China we did our research. As a family we love desserts and sweet stuff as Robert calls it and the Guangdong region of China is famous for its steamed buns and snack cakes.
Today we went to the supermarket for the first time and we decided to get a few of these sweet treats to try.
As a public service blogger I now present to you......
THE THOMSON'S BUN/CAKE TASTE TEST.
We tried 7 different varieties and here for you are our results.
1. Leisure Farm Vanilla: Pretty plain with just a hint of vanilla.
2. Kong Vanilla: Robert was convinced it was Banana. Although he was disappointed it wasn't he still liked it better than Leisure Farm's.
3. Cundo Black Classic: Awesome cake chocolate covered and very tasty. Tastes like a Cadbury's Mini-Roll dipped in dark rum.
4. Cundo White Classic: Yuck....shame we bought 2 of them by accident.
5. Kong Blueberry: Very nice a bit like a blueberry jam donut.
6. Cundo Lemon: Amazing with a great smell and taste. Lena wanted more.
7. Leisure Farm plain: Bland, nothing to write home about. Not as nice as their vanilla.
So Gentle Readers our top 3 were the Cundo Lemon, Cundo Black Classic and the Kong Blueberry.
