Hello gentle readers...after my car problems yesterday its time to look under the bonnet of history and fiddle about with the spark plugs of time so you look like you know what you are doing.


1566: Prognosticator Nostradamus dies (I bet he didnt see that coming).


1839: African slaves rebel and take over the ship Amistad on which they were being transported.


1900: The first Zeppelin has its maiden flight.


1922: Fashion designer Pierre Cardin is born.



1962: The first Wal-mart opens in Arkansas.



1973: UK comedian Peter Kay is born.



1997: US actor James Stewart dies.
