I want to wish a very happy St. Patricks Day to all my Irish and non-Irish friends.
Here on my blog I like to educate you so here are TEN facts about St. Patrick and St Patrick's Day that are actually true.
1. He was not Irish, he was born in Britain. He may even have been of Roman descent.
2. Patrick's colour is Blue......not green.
3. The St. Patricks Day we know and love was invented in the USA.....not Ireland.
4. March 17th is a celebration on the day of his death.
5. Snakes have never lived on Ireland so how could Patrick expel them all?
6. The harp, not the clover, is the emblem of Ireland.
7. Traditionally St Patricks Day was a sober holiday not the drunken 5 day weekend it has become.
8. Corned Beef and Cabbage is NOT a traditional Irish dish.
9. More Irish people live in the USA (34 million) than Ireland (4.2 million)
10 The odds of finding a 4-leaved clover are 10,000 to 1.
