Whether North Korea was responsible for the hacking or not, the embarrassment factor for Sony Pictures. Behind the scenes rumours and scandals have become headline news. Sony, who are one of the biggest entertainment companies have lost a lot of respect because of the secrets that have been revealed.
I have no compunction in sharing some of these secrets with you.
Wikileaks has made the information stolen from Sony available in a searchable format for the first time. Sony said it "strongly condemns" the release, which amounts to more than 170,000 emails and 30,000 documents. The new documents reveal more about the internal wranglings at Sony's film division but, so far, nothing is as embarrassing as the previously-released material. Last year, Sony's co-chairman Amy Pascal and producer Scott Rudin came under fire for a series of racially-insensitive emails about Barack Obama's taste in films, which were among the first to be leaked. Rudin was also exposed for calling Angelina Jolie "minimally talented" and a "spoiled brat".
Other secrets revealed include:
1. Sony in negotiations with BBC to make Doctor Who movie.
2. George Clooney's email address was revealed to include the name batmansenior.
3. Director David O Russell (Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle) accused of Bullying the crew members in his movies.
4. Sony spent $150,000 on private jets for Jennifer Lawrence while she was filming The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.
5. They thought 12 years a slave would not be liked by Academy voters because of the racial element.
6. Rooney Mara wants Girl with the Dragon Tattoo sequels made.
7. Daniel Craig lost $5 million in a product placement after Bond producer, Barbara Broccoli, earmarked the money for herself.
8. Scott Rudin made more tasteless remarks about Angelina Jolie's talent.
9. Jonah Hill was too scared to drive a Lamborghini for 22 Jump Street.
10. Ryan Gosling, a huge video-game fan, wants to star in a Bio-shock movie.
